History of nuclear energy in Romania

Nuclearelectrica is the only nuclear energy producer in Romania. Cernavodă plant provides between 18-20% of Romania's electricity consumption needs. One in five light bulbs in Romania is powered by the nuclear energy produced at Cernavodă. Below are the most important moments in the history of nuclear energy in Romania:
