The Romanian Atomic Forum Romatom had the privilege of participating on Tuesday, June 11, at a round table together with the high -level Canadian delegation that came to Bucharest to sign the framework between Nuclearelectrica and Canadian Nuclear Partners to re -technologize the unit 1 from CernavodaRomanian nuclear.

In the context of this visit, the members of the Romatom Directory Committee, with the support of the Canada Embassy in Bucharest, participated in a meeting with Minister Ontario, Todd Smith, and the Energy Minister Stephen Lecce, along with representatives of the Canada industry: Jason Van Wart (president and CEO of Laurentis Partners.and CEO of Ontario Power Generation), Raj Verma (Vice President Laurentis Energy Partners), Heather Bystryk (Senior Trade Commissioner Canada in Bucharest).

From Romatom were participated: Teodor Chirica (honorary president Romatom), Daniel Predescu (interim president), along with some of CD members Cătălina Dobre (Atkinsrealis) and Guillaume Laurent (Industrial Montage), along with Ana Zidărescu (executive director of Romatom) and Bogdan Termegan (Director of Romatom).

Within the round table, the continuous commitment for Romanian-Canadian cooperation was emphasized and the essential role of Romatom was highlighted in promoting and supporting the national nuclear industry.

The importance of this event was amplified by the presentation of the capabilities and potential of the Romanian supply-chain, highlighting the innovative contribution of the Romanian members to the development of the nuclear sector.The objective proposed by Romatom being to maximize the possible synergies between the two parties.There was also discussed the challenges of the sector from the perspective of education and human resources.

In conclusion, the visit of the Canadian delegation has opened new horizons for strategic collaboration in the nuclear sector, the potential to organize working visits to Canada.Nuclear relations between Canada and Romania are stronger than ever, and Romatom is proud to play a key role in this strategic partnership.
