Romatom along with the associations of the nuclear industry internationally: Canadian Nuclear Association, Industrial Forum atomic Japan, Nuclear Energy Institute, Nuclear Industry Association, Nuclear Europe and World Nuclear Association issued a common statement in the marja Cop 27 on the strategic nuclear energy role in the current geopolitical context.

Nuclear energy is a safe, accessible and clean energy source, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a day, with a vast international operating experience.In the current energy crisis, nuclear energy has an important contribution in ensuring the security in supply as well as the decarbonization objectives.

The nuclear industry has asked the decision makers to take into account the potential of nuclear energy to support economic relaunch and climatic transition globally.Thus,

• Investments in the construction of new nuclear power plants should be intensified and accelerated to increase the contribution of nuclear energy in energy networks by 2030, which would have a significant, immediately and long -term impact on the reduction of CO2 emissions.The various financial frameworks available worldwide (both in the private and public sectors) should be reorient to allow a greater coverage of nuclear energy.The role of nuclear energy should be strategically viewed, fully recognizing its contribution to the security of energy supply, accessible and stable energy and decarbonization prices, in close cooperation with other reduced carbon dioxide projects, such as hydroelectric, wind and solar energy.
